Kuala Lumpur, 28 March 2023 – Having just been awarded the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon contract, CheckPointSpot is appointed to be the timing device provider for Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon for the next four (4) years, starting with this year’s marathon which will take place on 30 September 2023 & 1 October 2023 at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.
As part of its race timing efforts, CheckPointSpot, will be tasked to produce the race bib and deploy the official Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon 2023 mobile app, on Android and iOS.
In a bid for an eco-friendlier race, the race bibs for this year’s marathon will be printed using a special synthetic paper coated with PET (PolyEthylene Terephthalate) material. PET is used to package 70% of carbonated soft drinks, fruit juices, dilutable drinks and bottled water. Light, durable, safe and with a smaller carbon footprint than alternatives, PET is the most recyclable plastic in the world because it can be made into new products. Its high recyclability also makes it less likely to end up in landfill, and this makes it the most eco-friendly material.
Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon 2023 official mobile app allows participants to get up-to-date event information on their mobile. There is also a live tracking feature which allows family members to be with the participants from the comfort of their home.
