CheckPointSpot® Deploys Integrated Race Technology at Powerman Malaysia 2026

CheckPointSpot® deployed a combination of participant-facing technology and race operations solutions at Powerman® Malaysia 2026, supporting the event across Race Entry Pack Collection, race timing, results management and AI-powered race photography.

The deployment reflected CheckPointSpot®’s broader approach to mass-participation technology: supporting both the operational requirements of organisers and the participant experience before, during and after race day.

Technology across the event journey

CheckPointSpot®’s involvement began before race day with the event’s two-day Race Entry Pack Collection, where CheckPointSpot® supported the technology, systems and operational processes required for participant collection.

On race day, the team provided race timing and results management, working alongside the organising and operational teams throughout the event.

Following the race, participants were also supported through RaceTag, CheckPointSpot®’s AI-powered race photography platform.

RaceTag uses facial and bib-number recognition to match participants with photographs captured during an event, helping runners and athletes locate their race images more efficiently.

The Powerman® Malaysia deployment therefore brought together several parts of the CheckPointSpot® technology ecosystem within a single event — from participant servicing before the race to timing and results during competition and race memories afterwards.

Adapting to changing event conditions

Powerman® Malaysia 2026 also provided an example of how event technology needs to respond when operational circumstances change.

Haze conditions led the organiser to review the event format, distances and routes shortly before race day.

Once the revised arrangements were confirmed, the CheckPointSpot® team adjusted the relevant technology and on-ground setup, including race distances, categories, timing points and results calculations, before testing the revised configuration ahead of the event.

For CheckPointSpot®, the experience reinforced the importance of combining technology with operational knowledge and the ability to respond quickly when race conditions change.

From operational systems to participant experience

The Powerman® Malaysia deployment also illustrates how the role of race technology is expanding beyond traditional timing.

While systems such as timing, results and Race Entry Pack Collection operate largely behind the scenes, solutions such as RaceTag provide a more direct participant-facing experience after the event.

For CheckPointSpot®, both sides are increasingly part of the same objective: using technology to make mass-participation events easier to operate, more reliable to deliver and more useful to participants.

The successful delivery of Powerman® Malaysia 2026 reflected the close cooperation between the organising team, CheckPointSpot® and the various operational teams involved in the event.
